Right now, Filipinos are dying because politicians are stealing money meant to save lives. Government officials treated disaster prevention funds like personal bank accounts. Meanwhile, 174 people died during the 2024 typhoon season alone and over 700,000 were displaced from their homes.
Between 2023 and 2025, nearly ₱2 trillion were allocated for flood control projects across the Philippines, but investigators discovered that 421 out of 8,000 projects don't exist. The money vanished into the pockets of corrupt politicians and their contractors accomplices.
The economic damage is staggering. Corruption in flood control averaged ₱118.5 billion annually from 2023 to 2025. That's 95,000 to 266,000 jobs that could have been created. And, South Korea suspended a $503 million infrastructure loan over corruption concerns. The Philippine Stock Exchange fell 1.5% for seven straight sessions.
We the people demand immediate action. By signing this petition, you agree...
Every official involved must be prosecuted. All stolen funds must be recovered. All flood control projects must be built. And, we must establish transparent oversight mechanisms to prevent this from happening again.
The reality is that the Philippines has been named the world's most disaster-prone country for 16 consecutive years. Climate change is making typhoons worse. The next one is coming. And when it does, Filipinos will drown again because the infrastructure meant to protect them was never built. To do your part, please sign this petition and share it everywhere.
Make noise until they have no choice but to act. The water is rising, and we're running out of time.
